Mold on heat diffuser

Doing a brisket flat---opened the Egg first time this year---mold on the diffuser. Can I simply get a fire going, put the diffuser in and open the top and bottom for a burn off to kill it?

Yes, doing a higher heat clean burn, 600 degrees, for a couple hours will get you back to brand new.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas

What I sometimes do is just put it in the gasser while I prep the meat burns off everything and you also have a heated diffuserGreensboro North Carolina
