And now, for a more serious answer.
The geniuses (geniusie?) in the UT church-state legislature just passed a law to go to DST(M), year-round (I guess this is subject to Fed approval).  This is So Stupid!  The three main states within MST are Aridzona, Utard, and Montana; AZ is on permanent MST, MT is on MST/DST (depending on the time of year), and if approved, UT will be on permanent DST(M).  How fun will this be for commerce, delivery schedules, airline schedules, even just calling a vendor in the Mountain Time Zone, with three different "rules"?
    Idiotic!!

EDIT:  Oh, and to add to the confusion?  There was also a law introduced to move the public school start times to an hour later, because "teenagers needed an extra hour of sleep".
WTFF????  Be a goddamned parent and put your damn kids to bed at the right time!! I just don't understand what's going on anymore.
Brother @Botch you missed CO, WY, NM, and ID all in MST.  And here in CA last election we voted, pending Federal approval, to go on permanent DST.  I am firmly in the camp of (c) - permanent standard time.  I remember in the middle '70s when we went on DST in January - it was hell, hell I tell you!
Yeah, I realized that this morning, my bad!
So are parts of KS, TX, ND, SD (all states that I've lived in) and NE.
Must've been a bit higher than LEO last night, d'Oh!

B or C, keep it constant.  The change impacts my sleep pattern.  Plus, my Beagles are fed at 7 AM and 4 PM, the change impacts their internal food clock.

Although I voted A, I prefer DST to standard time.

Let's just split the difference.  In the fall, let's fall back a half hour and call it good and stay there.  We don't seem to want to embrace the simplicity of the metric system.... let's be X:30 off of GMT.   Merica.

If memory serves me right (and that could be a press) Indiana (at a minimum) had half hour time zones in state within the past two decades.  Since righted the ship.

We came very close to converting in the late '70s; the pocket calculator killed it off.
Oddly, the USAF's newest fighter, the F-35, has an ejection system with metric fasteners.  So, every Egress Shop throughout the world now must have two separate CTKs (Community Tool Kits).
    Argh.  :anguished:

@Botch - I recall a recent (within 10 years) unmanned Mars probe augering in because the calculations for descent worked the issue with ft/sec vs m/sec.
And some money grabbers (NASA) want to put humans into the loop...

For me, at my latitude and longitude and my weird sleep habits, I'd prefer staying on DST all year.

I am semi-retired and only work three days a week. I go in early to beat the traffic and to talk to my overseas vendors. It is always dark when I go in, PST or DST, so I would prefer to have more light in the evening. Although it does make sunset photography a little harder in the summer.

California also voted to start schools an hour later against the wishes of many parents and school districts. It seems to be messing up two working parent schedules quite a bit.

I'm a fan of daylight savings time, easier for me to get some chores done around the house during the week so I can spend most of the weekend doing something fun with the wife and kid. Plus, more time to fish!

We (Kansas) are among the 32 states with legislation pending to make DST permanent (year round). Hope it happens soon.  Had to go to my wife’s office this morning to reprogram their payroll time clock.  A PITA for me every time change.
