I have a friend of mine who will hopefully be getting an egg in Chicago. It’s a surprise for his 30th birthday and his wife is asking me where she can find the best deal. All she has found so far are quotes from ace hardware. Anyone from Chicago in this forum who knows where to get the best deal? Thanks in advance.

    I bought mine at an Ace when I lived in Chicago. A friend that lives there bought his at Abt.

    There's a guy up there that sells gray market eggs on eBay, CL, etc.......if he's not concerned about the warranty.

    abt quit selling eggs a few years ago and went with kamodo joe
    backyard bbq in wilmette is a great shop.  they carry all sorts of brands, and the owner, dan, is always there and very helpful.  i can't say if the prices are any better than any other dealer (like some of the ace hardware stores) but they'll be waaaaay more knowledgeable.

    Another vote for Backyard BBQ - I live in the city, but ordered mine from them and they delivered it and set it up.  When I got my XL (several years ago) I compared prices between Chicago stores and the differences were not significant.  Good service, highly recommend.
