Weekend Tri Tip

My whole family was in town this weekend and my mom wanted me to cook her some Tri Tips for her birthday. I picked up a couple packages from Costco and marinated them in a little bit of Olive Oil and covered them in Cookies seasoning. Cooked indirect with a little pecan wood at 250 until the internal temp was 120, then seared at 500 until it was 140 internal temp. I also made some mashed potatoes and some delicious homeade gravy to make open faced sandwiches with them. Needless to say there were no leftovers which is always a little depressing for my lunches during the week but a good sign the cook went over well!
