  • Call me a Philistine, but I've never found anything I like better than $bux Caffe Verona. I do use a very good coffee maker though.
Cincinnati, Ohio. Large BGE since 2011. Still learning.

I only drink espresso. Just fyi ;)

I also have the feeling coffee can get to be like craft brewing. Millions of different breweries out there and it is easy to get carried away and sucked into snobbery.
Speaking of espresso, we have a Nespresso and the Colombian pods are some of my favorite for a straight espresso pull.
  • I love a good cup of coffee. That's defined as not too strong, not burnt, no add-ons. I have spent some time on Kauai and have drunk several different kinds of coffee, both Kauai sourced, Kona, and Jamaica Blue Mountain. My absolute favorite is Kona from Greenwell Farms. It ain't cheap, but neither is any other good tasting anything. I haven't had any good Jamaica Blue Mountain in years.

That having been said, I'll whatever hot, brown, caffeinated beverage a restaurant or coffee shop sells just to get my fix. Kona, though is my favorite.

Coffee can absolutely become like craft beer or wine, with one major difference: with coffee, you, the consumer, play a role in the creation of the final product. Your brew method--and expertise--can create profoundly different cups. In that way, it's a more active hobby and, yes, quite available to snobbery.
    Nice comment right there!
P.S. as for me I got used to Kicking Horse dark roasted beans for espresso. I used to make coffee in a Turkish coffee pot, like, you know they put int in hot sand and the beverage starts boiling, they only remove the crust from the top. But I started making it French press. My wife even bought one of these grinders. So it takes like 15 minutes in the morning, but that's only for those who like espresso, I guess
