I decided to get a new alarm, and not take a chance on my old one dying halfway through the upcoming turkey cook.  They are on sale today.  I went with Blue.  
I like my butt rubbed and my pork pulled.

    Great system. Really loud.
    I put a piece of tape over the back speaker to give me a more usable volume range.

    Good.  I'm glad I made a smart choice.  My Thermapen has been great, so I figured this would be just as good.  I have an old wireless setup, but it doesn't have much range.  Maybe I'll be able to hear the alarm inside since its loud.  I'm usually not too far away from the Egg anyway during a cook.
