Duroc pork butt

Bear with me, there's a bit of a backstory here. Several months ago, at a restaurant, my wife ordered a Duroc pork chop. I have never had this breed. But, she raved about it and has been bugging me to find some Duroc pork. A few weeks ago, I got an email from Creekstone Farms that all ribs are on sale. Sweet - I was wanting some beef ribs. So I go on there and get two racks of beef ribs, and see some Duroc back ribs. Score. So I got 4 racks. Did not order a pork butt because I figured pulled pork is so simple it can't be that different.
The next week when my order arrived, I open it up and take out all the ribs, at the bottom of the styrafoam sit not one, but two ~8 lb Duroc butts. Double checked my receipt - nope, didn't order them. Score! Thanks Creekstone.
So I was working from home today and thought putting on the butt seemed like a good idea. Went turbo at 350, put on at 10am expecting it to finish around 4pm. I didn't bother documenting anything, because it's a pork butt - who cares? Millions have been posted. I didn't expect it to be any different than my normal Costco butt.
My first surprise was that it finished FAST. Done at 3pm, probed nice and smooth. But dinner wasn't until 6 so I put it in the oven still wrapped in foil at 170.
When I finally took it out at 6, the bone pulled completely clean.

Then I gave my wife a bite and asked, can you tell a difference? She said oh yes. I didn't believe her, thought it was in her head. So I made my plate with mustard sauce and pickles. And sat down and took a bite. HOLY SH*T. This is damn good. I can't really explain the difference, but it was more moist than usual (especially for turbo) and just had a deeper, richer flavor. It seemed like it took my rub much better as well. SO GOOD. Had to take pictures and post. Unbelievable. Creekstone - the first hit is free, I see what you did there.

Duroc became available in my area some months back, I am a huge fan and feel it is worth the 20-30% price premium. My cooks have been pork chops and ribs (BB's and Spares). Pork butts being like you say "just a butt", I have passed them by. You post has made me rethink that, seems worthwhile to try a Duroc now.Very nice finished product in those pics, looks fabulous!LBGE, LBGE-PTR, 22" Weber, Coleman 413GGreat Plains, USA

Congrats on the score! Haven't ordered from those guys so don't know their history of adding extras. Have also skipped going premium on pork butts but your post has made me give it some thought. Looks good.Wetumpka, Alabama

Never have ordered creekstone pork products (that will change) but frequently order their steaks (especially when on sale). That said, I have never been blessed with the bonus protein load. Better to be lucky than good. Now, if looking for a good steak deal give this a look:
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.
