Bolts on old style bands - time to replace???

Time to replace the table top after several ceramic tiles on the side of the existing top came loose.  I have made this one out of white oak and will add pictures once installed.

I will have to dis-assemble my 10 year old large egg including bands to change the tops.  I know from previous experience, the bolts securing the bands were bent to insure sufficient tightness.

My question to the brain trust is should I replace the bolts while doing this?

Any idea the bolt size, thread and length or where I could find it?

I would replace. Just take one of the old ones (including nut) with you. You're looking for Grade 5 carriage bolts. Any decent hardware store should have them. Or your dealer.

    Grade 5 looks like this...

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Sounds like a good plan.  Home Depot nearly in my back yard.

You might be better a local Ace if you have one. The Depot is not really good about one or two bolts at a time, but if it's in your backyard. ..

Thanks for the feedback.  I have a couple Ace's not too much further away so that would be the backup plan.
My Home Depot has a couple bins with a large variety of loose nuts, bolts, washers, etc.

Remember to get Grade 5 carriage bolts. The rounded head will have three lines on it.
