    Cool cook. Did you cook the chicken partially before adding to the CI?

    I did not. Was hoping the chickpeas would get a good crunch like the sheet pan ones did with the extended cook time.  I think I had too many peas in the pan and they were over crowded to crisp up even with stirring them a few times.

    It's "Smokin Gal", not "Smoking Al".

    Yes Ma’am. I first rubbed the chicken and let it set for a bit, added some EVOO,lemon juice and zest plus a lil fennel to the chickpeas then rolled them and the chicken around in a bowl.  Flavors were great but the crunch was absent.

    Simple and great right there.  Congrats on the creativity and outcome.

    That's a great skillet meal. I like the idea of softer chickpeas, almost stew-like with the chicken.

    Did you use canned or dry chickpeas? I wonder if it would be easier to get crunchy chickpeas if you started with dry ones and soaked for a specific amount of time?

    @caliking - canned but I rinsed and air dried.  It was good just not what I was shooting for.
