Lobster Tails

400 direct to start, 5 minutes per side. Thought they we done. Didn’t want to overcook. Weren’t finished so back on they went at 450 for another 6 minutes. Now they were done but even could have went a little longer. Take away; start at 450. Cut them open more. Use scissors to cut the legs off first. Melted 1/2 stick of butter with 2 garlic cloves sliced, chopped parsley, black pepper, and some Bell-View Hoagie Pepper Sauce. Brushed on my two after grilling, since Mrs. 500 didn’t want butter on hers. The butter also was good on the side dish of corn. Chardonnay paired well with the tails. Will do again sometime.
I like my butt rubbed and my pork pulled.

I like to use scissors and cut down the middle of the shell then pull the meat out and rest it on top of the shell, then I baste with melted butter while I grill them.

Good idea. We were struggling to get the meat out of tail.

What he said is exactly how I do it.  Wife loves tails cooked this way!

I run my finger between the meat and the shell to separate it, so you get the hard part out of the way before the cook and it’s not only easy to eat but looks good.
  • Try not to cut all the way down the shell so that the end of the tail is still connected.

I was looking for a picture to post, this is exactly what I was describing.  Yes, leave some connected.. I definitely did not make that clear.
