Thanks for the positive comment.  I am worried that this video is too long,  I usually do shorter videos. Trying to see if people will watch something longer. I always have fun making these...

  • Nice video. Your pizza looks cooked nicely.

Oddly enough, just a few hours before you posted it, I was just thinking it would be great if someone would post detailed instructions for pizza cooking.

I’ve done pizza maybe half a dozen times. Never been remotely happy with the results. I’ve always followed the common wisdom on pizza (e.g., proper temp, stone sufficiently hot, high in some, etc.) only to achieve unsatisfactory results. I usually end up with an over cooked bottom and undercooked top, with chewy dough in the centre. Wish I could get a pizza coach over to show me the error of my ways.

    Good vid @JMCXL

I need to try more pizza!

I don't feel that your video was too long.  You covered many great points to help a first timer be successful on a pizza cook.  Also, there were many great pointers to help anyone with a hi-temp cook.  There was no fluff or filler, and I didn't feel you were trying to kill time at all.

After cooking on a MM for 7 months, that XL looks huge!  I was shocked that the dome could close on that rig you have in there.  :)

My only advice would be to try to improve sound quality on the indoor shots.  What camera are you using?  Does it have a microphone input?  If so, maybe you could add a microphone to  your setup.  You have a large kitchen with lots of hard surfaces.  I'm not an A/V expert/enthusiast/hobbyist, but I would like your voice to sound like you are right in my ear.  Maybe a lot of youtubers sit at their computer and do a voice over commentary of all of their shots, and that is what I am thinking of.

Keep up the good work.  I know it takes a lot of time creating these videos and a lot of people with knowledge to share don't feel like spending the time to make them.  Thanks for sharing your knowledge!  Unfortunately, many youtubers don't have knowledge to share yet they still make videos.  =)

Very good tutorial for first timers bud!  Keep up the work.

I think one tip that many don't follow enough is how long it takes to get that stone up to temp.  Maybe give an estimated time of how long yours took and also note that everyone's are different.  Investing in an IR gun is crucial for stone temp.

Agree with @kl8ton with the sound.  I used a cheap $20 wired lav mic for a while.  Also be real careful with the background music too as it helped no being able to hear yourself.

Thanks for the feedback. You are correct the audio was not great. I used a GoPro to shoot this and I was too far away. Being lazy I didn’t put on my microphone (I will use it for all video going forward). I got a new GoPro hero 7 and this was my first try with it. Thanks for the time to respond and provide feedback I really appreciate the comments

Thanks for your comments, I think in  my next video I will drop the music. For the longer videos  it just gets in the way.  The feedback is great, make we want to incorporate these comments into the next video.
