First Sous Vide Cook

Bought a 4 pack of Strips from Costco some time back.  Cooked the first two reverse sear as normal but for these two I borrowed the neighbors Sous Vide and gave it a try.

Steaks thawed, taken out of Vac Seal, S&P and one steak got some Rosemary.

Into the Bath- ran at 129 for 60 min

Already had some Salmon on the egg, but now searing the steaks

Put some potatoes in the IP along the way.

Thoughts-
Pretty easy process to do
The look of the meat coming out of the bath was awful, after it came off the grill it looked great
Taste- underseasoned for me, but the flavor of the meat was amazing.  My 13 YO Daughter thought it was likely the best steak she ever had.
Now I have to decide if its worth then investment into one.

Just Vote- What if you could choose "none of the above" on an election ballot? Millions of Americans do just that, in effect, by not voting.  The result in 2016: "Nobody" won more counties, more states, and more electoral votes than either candidate for president.

    Looks great!
SV machines are getting so cheap it's not a big leap. Go for it.

looks great! it's one of those things that you definitely don't need.  cooking a decent steak took me some practice, but it ain't rocket science.  but with a SV, it's totally idiot proof, and it makes meal timing really easy.

one thing you might try is vac sealing them and freezing them individually, no seasoning.  don't thaw, season, and re-vacuum, just drop it right in the SV.  then open it when done, dry it well, season with S&P, and sear it.

If I buy a few from Costco I usually season the ones I’m going to freeze and when we want to eat them it’s straight from the freezer to the hot tub
