I'm resisting! Someone posted this in another forum:

(of course it's cheaper south of the border)
... I recently purchased a 4 burner stainless steel Blackstone griddle from Bed Bath and Beyond for $399
The retail on Home Depot, Amazon etc.. for over $750. They have it listed for $499 and you can use the one time 20% off email code for signup to bring it down and free shipping...

Considering I got mine for $299 about 6 months ago I’d say all of those are terrible deals.

Unless I dig a little deeper and realize that’s “Canadian” even then it’s over priced.

I just did a quick interweb currency convert, few minutes ago 299USD is worth about 403CAD, you do the math.

Noticed I said "of course it's cheaper south of the border"?

It's all relative, without the hassle of cross border shopping, I'd say 399CAD is a decent deal, considering Home Depot Canada has it listed at 769CAD (granted only suckers would pay this price!)...

Ya I was responding to the fact that I overlooked that you said “south of the border” I wasnt trying to by an a$$. I had that same Blackstone and got rid of it for 2 reasons 1)because for my personal situation I didn’t need that large of one. 2) that stainless is a pain in the rear to keep clean. I bought the double burner table top and have been very happy so far.

It's all good.  I was puzzled because after admitting it's Canadian you said "even then it’s over priced", perhaps there was a typo?

Thanks for sharing your experience, agree 4-burner is not for everyone, seriously I have no intention of getting one, just posted as a PSA for canucks who can use it and want to buy local.  My Traeger Ranger came with a griddle, haven't tried it yet.

  • Thanks for sharing. Love the idea of one, but this would be kind of like a sports car in my climate (which incidentally, I just traded in!) - only useable for six or so months a year. This past winter has made me wary of any purchase that hinges on good, or at least acceptable, weather.

I’d recommend the 22” table top. Portability!!

I really like my 18" for traveling with. Not for at home though. Too small for any motivation to go out and cook on it at home. I don't think I could go smaller than my 36" for home use. If I had the room I wouldn't mind owning two 36" Blackstones.

My guess is BBB in GWN was able to load up on bargain priced 4-burner units due to low demand, hence the low selling price, it's the only size they carry.
