OT - ACE Hardware in Cleveland Area

OshawaDaveOshawaDave Posts: 178

I'm planning a trip to Cleveland the end of June to tour the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame among other things. I'm coming from Ontario through Fort Erie and an looking for recommendations for BGE dealers or Ace Hardware that has a good inventory of BGE products.  I want to buy several bags of Rockwood to try.  Does anyone have any recommendations for ACE in or around Cleveland or on route from Fort Erie? I did see one Ace (Evans Ace) on highway 5, outside of Buffalo that it on my way, but, not sure of others. Thanks.

There appear to be a bunch of Ace Hardwares in the Cleveland area -

But I don't think any of them are egg dealers:

You're right...I guess no one in Cleveland is an egger! I did notice that this Evans Ace on my way is a Gold BGE dealer. I'll stop there to be sure.

My Ace never seems to have Rockwood on the shelf. I can order it and they'll get it in the store in a few days.

Whatever store you decide to visit I would contact them and see if they keep it in stock and if not, you could order some Rockwood ahead of time so you can be sure they'll have some stock for you to pickup.

Just curious - I assume you will have to pay some duty or tariff when crossing back into Canada - right? May I further assume that you have priced BGEs in Canada and figure you will be better off buying it in the US in spite of the tariff?

I'm not looking to buy a new Egg (well deep down I always am) I'm looking for accessories and Rockwood lump. I'll be in the US long enough to claim duty free back into Canada, but, I still have the 35% exchange rate to consider.

Since you’re coming from the Buffalo area down Route 5, stop in North East PA. I just googled an Ace Hardware there that has Rockwood. I’d call in advance to reserve some bags but they will be on your way, coming or going.

Thats a pretty drive, make sure to hit the vineyards/wineries on the way by!
