is there a difference between Half Moon Ceramic baking stones - Plancha & HMBS for Eggspander?

Help guys!

I can't figure out whether the half moon baking stone for the Eggspander system and the half moon "Ceramic Plancha" are different or not. If they are, what are the key differences please?

I've searched the forums but can't find this exact comparison.

I'm getting one for my XL BGE and I want to get the right version. I don't want to buy the Eggspander system if I can just use straight HMBS or Cast Iron Half Moon onto the Plate Setter.

Advice welcome.

thanks.😁

The plancha can be used as a griddle whereas the stone is just for indirect purposes

I will add that you should strongly consider Ceramic Grill Store. That's who a lot of us use.

AKAIK, there isn't a "cermic" half-moon plancha, just a cast iron one. There is a ceramic half-moon heat deflector. I don't own one but I would assume you could use the CI plancha for both purposes.

I had the luck to actually go in the CGS store in Denton and they spent 2 hrs with me getting my set up.

Next time I am in Dallas with time to kill I will drive back up there to get the part they said I should get as well but didnt.
