Cover size question

I just built this table and am going to sew the cover for it myself. The table is 6 feet long by 32 inches wide. My question is how much larger the cover needs to be to cover without being too big or too tight.

Welcome aboard and enjoy the journey. Above all, have fun.

Nice handi-work right there. Congrats. I have no skills regarding your cover question but I would err on the loose side. I gather you are not going to have a riser section for the BGE.

  • Thanks for the welcome. I have been lurking a long time but have usually found an answer to my questions using search but haven't been able to nail this one down. I am going to make a full cover so the egg will be covered as well as the table.

Should you not get any other responses I would run a string from the ceramic cap down one side and another down the other to the ground. Then do the same 90* to the first ones. Measure them out, decide how much ground clearance (if any) and go from there. And add 5% for measure twice, cut once, the stitching overlap and have at it. You could test run with something simple like sheet plastic or a shower curtain for a pattern.

I am in way deep here with no skills as mentioned above but absent anything else... 😎

What I am looking for is if someone has a table that is 4 feet long and has a cover for it how much longer than 4 feet is the cover?

I have a similar table, and there's no difference in measurements. The cover fits snug and may stretch the extra 1/8" to fit over.

Just finished the cover and added a door to the big opening on the right. I might have been ahead to order a custom made cover but it's nice to be able to say I made it my self.

It looks pretty good! How much did you add to the top dimensions?
