OT - Another Dopey Dealer...

Sent a warranty request (cracked base) to one of my local dealers after being told in person in the store I needed to email photos of my receipt and the crack. The place is a large meat market in the area in addition to being a Dealer. They emailed back I needed to go to the place I bought it. Here’s my response to them...

“Thanks but they got out of it 2-3 years ago. Funny story, was thinking when I picked up my new base from you folks I’d also get a new Kick Ash basket, a bag or two of Rockwood and maybe some beef ribs, brisket or a couple pork shoulders...

One of your employees said you handled warranty claims. He must have forgotten to mention about only handling claims regarding BGE’s bought from you?

There are other dealers closer to where I live. Some of them also sell Kick Ash baskets and Rockwood. Would you really rather I walked into one of those stores instead???”

LBGE (still waitin' for my free T-Shirt), DIgiQ DX2 (In Blue, cause it's the fastest), Heavy Duty Kick Ash Basket, Mc Farland, WI. :glasses:  B)
If it wasn't for my BGE I'd have no use for my backyard...

Lazy SOB's and or poor training. Either way it sucks. One of the drawbacks to the way BGE handles claims. You are at the mercy of local dealers til you escalate the issue with BGE in Atlanta. I'm very lucky my local dealers and Distributor are good people.

I have had a cracked base, firebox and fire ring for several years now. The dealer I bought it from no longer sells eggs. Been putting it off because I'm not looking forward to the experience. BGE needs to take a lesson from Weber. Or KJ from what I hear. And none of this "free shipping as long as you wait for our next order"!

Ace near me recently started carrying eggs. I need to try him.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Ironically enough I just got this from my local Ace dealer. I sent him a pic of the cracked base and the digits stamped into it on Thursday. I've never been asked for a receipt. Ever.

Also, I'm cooking at his "Ace National Cook-out Day" on May 4th. I'm fortunate after reading these stories.

"Got your warranty base ordered....if you are doing spatchcock Turkey and chicken...and the tenderloins... what do you want for eggs to cook on....and how many egg "groupies" 😂😂..do you need to serve up and help you??"
