FOGO or not FOGO?
Went to my local Ace to buy some Rockwood and they were excited about a new (at least to us) lump from FOGO. They have brown and black bags--with the different color bags containing different size pieces of lump. Not being one who is quick to change, I stayed with Rockwood. Has anyone had experience with FOGO?

You will find many that love FOGO. I tried it. The pieces are large. But, for me, It didn't seem to have the density of Rockwood. I have stayed with Rockwood.

I thought FOGO was one of the four best that I have tried, but I would opt for Rockwood if they were side by side, assuming price was similar.

I’ve burnt hundreds of pounds of FOGO and it’s way more dense than Rockwood. Rockwood is light and super carbonized and FOGO is dense and less carbonized. That’s why a 20lb bag of Rockwood looks about the same size as a 35lb bag of FOGO. I do agree that I prefer Rockwood though.

@Wisv1k This thread abt FOGO may be useful. Wasn't sure how to add a link for this to your thread....

I really like Fogo alot. For me, it comes down to what's most readily available.

I prefer Rockwood for a variety of reasons. I actually like it better. It's typically less expensive. It's made in the USA vs South America, which benefits both the economy and the environment. etc.
That being said, I've used Fogo and it's a solid product. Pick up a bag and see what you think.
