My company car is a Lexus. Basically a Toyota with a big L on the grill. Best jap car we ever owned was our Acura MDX. Never had a problem with that.vehicle!

all of the high line brands are vehicles you lease. you do not purchase these. they depreciate like anvils falling out of the sky. plus, the majority of brands include the service with the lease. I leased my wife a jaguar F pace in December. the first maintenance is at 10k. all of the maintenance is covered through the entire lease (36 months) by the manufacturer. I would never buy any high line car. they are ticking time bombs after the warranty expires. I recommend leasing a BMW, if that is what you want. have your fun & turn it in after 24-36 months. oh yeah, to those who are against leasing: if you aren't paying cash, you don't own your car until you pay it off.....the bank does. buy appreciating assets, lease depreciating assets. I've been in the car business for 22 years.
good luck with your decision!
btw, 7 series brake jobs are close to $2000.

I always remember my grandfather telling me how much he loved the old days, you only needed a 5/8 and 1/2 in wrench to fix anything on your car.
Its seems like these days you need a computer networking degree and a $1500 special wrench to change the oil. I was talking to the tech at the Cadillac dealership when we took my wife’s car in for an oil change and new breaks, and he was telling me that it’s a pain in the A$$ to even do minor task, and that’s why oil changes are so expensive. That and her car has to use some oil with special additives in it per the manufacture.

My current BMW is my first. The M135i was well priced when they released it and mine was ex demo with 800 miles on it and 20% off list. It's been a great car, only cost service and brakes in 66k miles, although due a big service shortly. People say you must have the extended warranty, but I haven't bothered. The only imminent wallet risk for me is browsing for a nice used M5, which might tempt me out of the M-Lite.
So, in answer to the OP, get the 750i. Unless you really need the X drive, I'd give that a miss. Mine can get stuck with 1 rear wheel on some wet grass, but fitting a LSD would fix that and it would drive better than a 4WD and be less complicated to fix.

@Eoin If you go down the slope to the M-5 you will never come back. That is quite a machine (at least it used to be) heavy but with a power plant to handle it. Way outside my sphere of influence but you only go around once (I have not met anyone on a second go...) so there's that.
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. -
One of my favorite YouTube car channels is called Hoovies Garage. He bought a used BMW M5 for super cheap. Nothing but problems. I don't think he owned it for more than 3-4 months and took a big loss on it. He also had a BMW 850i V12. Huge issues with it. I want to say he sold it for something around $5,000.

Hoovies garage is epic. I like a lot of those youtube channels about cars.
