Wagyu Brisket (Costco-Southlake,TX)

Why are they priced lower than a prime (or is that just a fluke)?

Prime at Costco is lower than $5 per pound. I think prime is around $3 to $3.5 at Costco in Dallas area.

Will do! Unfortunately I will be out of town for a few weeks so this Brisket will be sleeping in the freezer for a little bit. I have smoked plenty of Prime Briskets from Costco which have came out great. Curious if the Wagyu grade lives up to the hype.

@Croy- the Wagyu does live up to the hype and especially at those prices.  At least that's my perspective.  FWIW-

100% agree... It's been a regular offering in Plano and there is a marked difference. Prime is 3.29 and wagyu 4.99. at that price I'd do wagyu all day

Select grade brisket is $3 a pound here. I guess that’s why I don’t do brisket often.

The issue is that's exactly the prices at the local grocery store.. people just don't know the difference... It's kinda sad .

Simply showing grocery prices of choice brisket locally.  It's 3.99/4.99 and about the same for packer. A packer style Wagyu is 4.99 @costco. Point flat or otherwise, the only reason someone would spend the same money buying choice when wagyu is available at the same price is they didn't know it was available, or ignorance to meat grades.
