Has anyone used this charcoal container?

Have used in the past. Honestly more work than it's worth to me.
I just dump the lump out of the bag and roll the bag back up.
Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
I have one. They can be a bit of a pain and not sure they are worth the work.

I have one as well. Like @WeberWho said, mine just holds wood chunks too.

Didn’t like it for lump, as bigger chunks got caught in opening. I now use for briquettes only, and works fine for that.

I did. It was fine for a while. I just use a water tight 5 gallon bucket that I keep on my back porch with the egg. Keeps the lump bone dry in any amount of wet weather I've experienced so far.

Have one as well... bigger chunks get caught in it. I now use an old Rubbermaid tote that we were going to throw out... glad I kept it because it holds a full bag of rock wood. 😁

I also have 2 of them on my uncovered deck. Keeps the Rockwood dry in all kinds of weather. Each holds about half a bag of Rockwood. Sometimes a large piece will get caught in the opening, but is is easily removed with my hand (I generally have gloves on when I load the grill).

I had several. Moved to Lowe’s five gallon buckets. Those became brittle in Utah weather, particularly the lids. Their durability was lacking. The Lowe’s buckets are cheaper and work better since the lid comes off easier. Two buckets to a big bag of charcoal.

Every bag of charcoal we sell comes with a free charcoal container.......a three layer 60# Kraft paper bag! And when your finished, it recyclable, compostable, or burn'able! Enjoy!

No. My lump comes in it’s own container.-----------------------------------------analyze adapt overcome2008 -Large BGE. 2013- Small BGE and 2015 - Mini. Henderson, Ky.

I have used one but only for briquettes when I go camping. I can leave it out and my charcoal don’t get wet if it rains.

wood chunks and wax cubes in mine. Never used it for charcoal actually.Large BGE, small BGE, 2-22” Weber kettles, 26” Weber kettle, Weber jumbo joe, 14” WSM, 17” BS and 36” BS. Hope Mills, NC. USA.

I get the bag reference, but not all charcoal is covered from the elements by a bag. A container keeps it dry, even after all three layers are soaked.

I have a few of these, each filled/labeled with different brands:Each is able to hold a full bag of charcoal.I don't like pouring from the bag (unless it's just KBB) cuz I like to pick and choose the size of the pieces I need. Also prevents any stuff (rocks, wire strapping, fines, etc.) from being dumped into the grill.“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.” ― Philip K. Diçk

Pouring from the bag is only for us rebellious types. And you rarely get “stuff” in Rockwood or the other better brands. To each his own brother.Sandy Springs & Dawsonville Ga

I never sort by size when loading the grill. Itll burn.

I don't bother removing the lump from the bag. Just throw the whole shebang in there and set the mother on fire.______________________________________________I love lamp..

milesvdustin said:I never sort by size when loading the grill. Itll burn.True, it all burns. Hard to fit and use a softball sized piece in my yakitori grill tho so I like to pick and choose.“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.” ― Philip K. Diçk

I use a Rubbermaid Brute 32 gallon container with lid. It is kinda sorta under my canopy, but gets wet in a windy rain. It holds two bags of lump (RW, of course!) and I can still pick it up and dump directly into the Egg. I don't really like paper bags hanging around.XL BGE in San Jose, CA. Got some of these at Sams a few years back. Use one for lump and the other for recycling my BGE beverage containers. Wayfair has them now. Sams/Costco also get them this time of year sometimes.
