Best method to attach table top to BGE table base?

Hey folks....I've finished building my BGE table and now I'm trying to figure out the best method to attach the tabletop to the base. My table top is solid cedar edge joined with Kreg pocket screws with many coats of spar urethane finish (I'll post pictures soon).
Since it's going to be used outside I originally was planning on using stainless steel L brackets to attach the tabletop but after doing much research and watching videos I'm not sure I want to use those. Any suggestions as to the best method to use for attaching my solid tabletop to the base? I'm definitely concerned about wood movement throughout our MN seasons...but not sure if I'm overthinking this or not.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
