Asking $100. Looks like I just need to get a new draft door, cap, and fire grate. The fire ring is cracked but it would at least do for now. 

Anybody ever removed and repainted the band? Possible?

Thoughts?

Check it for cracks if none, and buy it.

Grab it grab it while you can. I took off, lightly sanded and painted bands on a medium a few years ago. Nothing to it and it really improved the looks.

Bands are very easy to remove! Much less clean off any rust and then repaint with a "rattle rattle Rustohem can" of rust proof paint.
