Enjoy! My favorite egg to grill with"The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan

Awesome - it’s a great cooker. I’d skip the platesetter and go to CGS and get the pswoo, stone and drip pan. You won’t regret it!!

Any idea where the best place to get a replacement thermometer would be? It’s missing one.Atlanta, GA

Just make sure the one you get is adjustable.

Not knowing the background I will offer that the SBGE is a great rig.I outfitted mine with a high Q grate and CGS woo and stone (as mentioned above) before I picked it up and have never looked back. Versatile beyond the appearance. Need 10-12 hrs with a butt; no problem, hot and fast is right there as well. Great acquisition!Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

I love my small It’s a workhorse for sure.

I had a difficult relationship with my small for several years before we got divorced. But after making some modifications, I was able to overcome the issues I had with it. Ultimately I purchased a Kamado Joe Jr. after missing the small, and I am glad that its back. I second the suggestion of a woo, and I also recommend a fire grate from a large egg (could be high que, or anything else). This made my small a grilling demon.

Agree, Small is much better with a few tweakscookingdude555 said:I had a difficult relationship with my small for several years before we got divorced. Would you mind sharing a photo of the set up? I use a kick Ash basket only in my small since it's kind of a pain to clean out .Mattman3969 said:I love my small It’s a workhorse for sure.

My woo is an older model, but works the same

I use it in the mini max now, but it was in the small before
-
So it looks like it lifts the grate up higher in the dome and stone up as well? Was imagining it would reduce the lump load but looks like it doesn't, correct?Large and Small BGECentral, IL

On the mini max, it raises above the felt line. In the small, the grid is level with the felt line. In either case with the woo I have, lump capacity is not reduced. The newer woo might have a lump reduction, I don’t have one.saluki2007 said:So it looks like it lifts the grate up higher in the dome and stone up as well? Here it is in the small - slightly below the felt line ...
