Hi folks. I’m about to purchase a BGE Large and wanted to ask about half moon plate setters. Are they available in the UK? Does anyone have any opinions or experiences they’d care to share to help me decide if I need them or not? Thanks in advance

Have no idea what is sold in the UK.
But I think you are talking about the half moon pizza stones?
If you can't find them local. Any tile store can cut a good quality pizza stone in half for you. A cheap sanding block with smooth out the edge.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
Yes, I’ve seen the half moon pizza stones. Do you know if they are as effective as a plate setter?

Not sure what size Egg you have, but I got a half stone for my XL from a pottery equipment supplier. It's just a kiln shelf. https://www.ctmpotterssupplies.co.uk/kilnshelvesandsupports.html

They're typically used to split the cooking area of an egg in half by shielding direct heat from the bottom on one side and a regular hot zone on the other, giving you a faux 2-zone setup. I guess technically, if you have 2 half-moons you can make a circle (duh) and that can be used as a "plate setter" with the right equipment.South of Nashville - BGE XL - Alfresco 42" ALXE - Alfresco Versa Burner - Sunbeam Microwave -
