Marinated Chops and an old but a good BGE Tip

Saw where old posts have been brought up today, and I had to grill some pork chops as well. Thought this “old tip” may be of use, not to the old timers, but to the new folks of whom might be new to the grilling community.
The tip is closing down on and heating the tongs between flips. It, in my experience (and we haven’t gotten sick yet), cooks away the raw junk from the meats on the tongs between flips. Just make sure to leave the tongs in there long enough to sanitize the unsanitary crap.
Tonight’s chops were pretty good too.

I usually just wash mine real quick with soap and water after the first flip. Never heard of that one before“There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body.”

Looks good. I love pork chops.

I've been doing that for years...seemed pretty obvious to me. If you're at decent heat, I figure it should only take a few seconds to sterilize the tongs.

Good tip.
I've never thought of doing it that way, but will give it a shot. I usually just stick mine down in the flames for a few seconds, but your method would be a lot easier on the tongsIndianapolis, IN -
I never bother either way, haven't gotten sick yet. I do use a clean plate for the finished product though.

Do this all the time. Good on ya.

Smart. I always use two sets of tongs, this is better.
