Whole deer hind quarter for a friend

Well I already have 2 deer in the freezer but a friend dropped off a whole hind quarter a couple days ago and I just stuck it in my gazebo freezer. I didn’t think about it till this morning...so what the heck...throw it on the egg.
Well my friend is a really good football player and can’t have any seasoning that have garlic or onion...doesn’t like salt either.
His name is DeOhGee I just call him dog for short.

No creature is more deserving than a Lab. Since he is a good football player you should give him one of the whole deer including back strap.
-
I would if it would fit in the egg.

The only venison I have cooked on a grill/smoker is the loin. Most qtrs have been cooked as a roast in the oven but in the last few years have ground up everything but the loins.
Maybe take a fork and stick it in and twist to see if it is coming apart.
It looks great so far -
Pulled at 150*..

Nice, is it real tender. Glad you shared with the pup

Yea...I’m surprised. It really turned out awesome...first time ever cooking any meat from frozen on the egg. I really like the tips, very crunchy and moist.
Im going to do this again but mananate and season prior...thanks for looking.
The one thing we have other than fish here on the shore is deer.

Don't forget the potatoes or do they still do that large scale over there?
-
Yea, potatoes are in the field a 1/4 mile from me.
