First time deep fry turkey

  • Oil at 350*.  Make sure completely thawed and seasoned/injected.  Use hot mit/welding gloves.  Turn off fire when lowering bird into pot.  Light fire again.  Cook 3.5 min/#.

    Exactly as I do it.

Set it up on bare ground or grass if you can as the oil may splatter and stain interlock stones. I also, set it up away from where people are gathering and kids are playing.

It turned out great! Compliments from everyone that had some that it was the best turkey they've had. I was amazed how the juices flowed when cutting the white meat.

Thanks everyone! I'm the appointed turkey maker now.

By the time I got it out of the fryer, let it rest for a bit, it was already carved up with people picking at it! I'm telling you, it was a huge hit considering no one here had ever had a turkey cooked that way including me.

Next time for sure! Thanks again for the guidance guys!!
