Grillgrates with Mini Max

Does anyone have Grillgrates for their Mini max?  I've got them for my XL and I love 'em.  Great for searing and grill marks.  Also eliminates flare ups if cooking a lot of burgers for large party.  Not sure if they will fit on the mini max or not.  Ceramic Grill Store says to measure 1st.  If it'll fit, seems it'll be tight.  Just trying to see if others have them on mini max.

@Dmb3739 I use the size that fits the small BGE on my small and MM. No problem. I like them for the same reason you do!!

I have some for my MM, the edges would catch the dome when it was closed. I ended up rounding the edges of the grates on a belt sander which fixed the issue. Other than that, they work great.

I place mine directly on the fire ring and they fit perfectly.

When we tested the grillgrates for the current minimax, the total clearance was about 1/8", sitting down on the fire ring.  That ain't much in the world of ceramic grills. That's why recommend taking a measurement.

@derka123 I could see them catching on the older minimax with the shorter, felt to fire ring, drop.

I have had the same experience as @derka123 .  It's very snug and catches on the dome of the older (original) Mini Max's.  I've yet to do like derka and trim it down. With that tight of a fit, I've experienced air flow issues and haven't used them again.

I even MADE a set for my Mini BGE!! With help from a Good Friend!!
