This afternoon called for roast chicken/ red potatoes w/ red onions. In cast iron at 350 indirect. Took about 2 1/2 hours and was fantastic! Didn’t get a finish pic.. don’t hold it against me..

Yes it was- I had not roasted for a while and the breast got to a little over 170 and was a touch dry but still tasty. Did not put a probe in to keep an eye on it- but will from now on !Dobie said:2 1/2 hours? Seem way too long, what was the IT?- Bettendorf, Ia with lots of time in Chattanooga, Tn. Did u put any kind of liquid in the pan ?
1 Large Egg, Blackstone griddle
Belgium...........The Netherlands??

No I did not. Another thing I did not think of. This is such a great pan to use and I don’t use it enough. I just need to put a probe in the Maverick when doing anything like this and let it do its job. Keep from unneeded trips outside.lentsboy007 said:Did u put any kind of liquid in the pan ?- Bettendorf, Ia with lots of time in Chattanooga, Tn. Is that a 17 in lodge and if so have you tried it on gas stove? I have one for egg and thinking about stovetop use but wonder if too large to get even heating.I XL and 1 Weber Kettle And 1 Weber Q220 Outside Alvin, TX-- South of Houston

It is the 13” green egg version. I do not have a gas stove so all my cast iron is used only the egg. I have a 12” skillet but with handle can’t close lid. And I won’t cut off the handle.
