I was happy to see the two best golfers of my generation finally working together and appreciating each others company.

I think it worked out perfectly with Phil winning and with Phil extending the playoff stating, "I don't want to win this way" when Tiger was standing over a six foot putt.  This event was to be won, not given away. I thoroughly enjoyed both of them being mic'd up the entire time.  And enjoyed the panel's dialogue as it went to the 93 yd par three to decide it.  "It's like a couple of club members who had been in the clubhouse having a couple of drinks challenged each other to a closest to the pin contest."  Walking right out the clubhouse door and hitting wedges off the practice green. Provoking images from a possible Caddy Shack scene.

Yeah, neither player was on their game, and the quality wasn't what they were capable of, but it was enjoyable.  I would love to see more of this, like the old Shell Wonderful World of Golf that pitted players head to head.

I hope they do it again next year with a four man format. Two pros and two celebs. More trash talk. More wagers on things during the match. One of my fondest golf memories is of attending the practice rounds of the Masters in the early 90's and following Fuzzy,Trevino , Arnold and a few others. The trash talk and the shot bets were hilarious.

I did see about the last half of this and thought it was reasonably good, but not something I would have regretted missing. Did anyone make a putt beyond 8 feet?
