Wanted something to sit directly on the coals and give the steaks good hatch marks. Turned out good, no plate pics sorry. Next time I'll reverse sear, the char got a little crazy...hey I was hungry and couldn't wait

Grate is 9" diameter made of stainless, I designed it in CAD and had a local shop cut it for me.

Cost me $50 cash for material and labor. And yeah I'm considering doing a bulk order and reselling. It's one piece of steel that was laser cut.

Grate is very cool. Who does not like stainless.
but I would rather have a larger one that would rest on the top of fire ring. MM does not hold very much lump and it’s always good for the next cook, so I would rather fill it up when I want to sear and also be able to use it for normal grilling.

I agree that the larger grate would be more useful.  My local fabricator gives me his scrap expanded metal, so it would be easy to cut a circular piece with my plasma cutter!
