I’ve wanted to make Derby Pie for awhile, but likely not this year. It’s basically a Pecan Pie with Chocolate Chips in it.
I like my butt rubbed and my pork pulled.

If y’all are making that many pecan pies, I need to come and camp out. There’s a pecan pie shaped hole in my heart :)

Large BGE & Mini Max for the wok. A few old camp Dutch ovens and a wood fired oven. LSG 24” cabinet offset smoker. There are a few paella pans and a Patagonia cross in the barn. A curing chamber for bacterial transformation of meats...
"Bourbon slushies. Sure you can cook on the BGE without them, but why would you?"

.....I have made 6 and gave them all away to neighbors. Still on the weight loss program.....it was very difficult to see those rascals come off, and not slappin a scoop of ice cream on a piece.

    Happy Thanksgiving brother.

To you and yours as well, my friend.

Tried something yesterday that I think has potential. Had some ginger infused honey sitting around.  Warmed up a piece of pecan pie and drizzled the ginger honey, with some ginger bits, over it. Topped with Blue Bell vanilla ice cream.

Farkin terrific. might make a pie or two over Christmas. Full report to follow.

Blue Bell makes everything have potential. I do like your sense of adventure though.

I am making a couple today as I am doing a BGE tutorial for the residents at the apartment  where I live. They have a large which is a great amenity (being under utilized). This is the third one I have done. Will also be doing a pancetta bourbon apple crisp. Served up with some fresh brewed coffee and a few cordials.

The first two I did were apps and entrees respectively. It’s been a lot of fun. @JRWi@JRWhitee  help me with the last one. Beautiful day to be outside. Cheers all.
