This hits close to home. My wife's Grandfather was Alex Raymond, creator of Flash Gordon. Stan Lee was a colleague and a friend of his in the very early days of comics. One of the last of the great ones.

I remember as a kid reading spiderman, xmen thinking this man was awesome for being able to create such inspirational and cool characters. At one point in time I had aspirations to draw for marvel comics, I figured that was the coolest job in the world when I was 10 years old.
