Central TX, Weekend Cooks

Spent a fantastic fall weekend down at my property on the Cow House Creek in central TX.  I am sure the photos will be out of order.

The creek crested 25 feet into our lower pasture during the recent rains.  It is still running fast.  The bees are busy as well.

Found some time to make a reverse sear strip steak, carbonara pasta, 7 hour potato, bacon and broccoli soup, and some sous vide wings.

Perfect weekend!

Way to enjoy your escape property.  A great set of cooks.  Nailed that strip steak.  Big fan of carbonara as well.
BTW- I'm guessing a 7 hour potato is the time you let it run on the BGE??
Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood.  Life is too short for light/lite beer!  Seems I'm livin in a transitional period. CHEETO (aka Agent Orange) makes Nixon look like a saint.

At what used to be the low water crossing on East Range Road of Cowhouse Creek (Fort Hood) a young solder tried to see if his new Corolla would float.
He was brought to my office at Toyota in Killeen by two MPs. They had fished him out of the creek and the car was in about 8 feet of water. They wanted to find who owned the car (if he had taken one of our cars).
Seems he was high and thought the car would float. Luckily for us he had just bought it. That was 25 years ago and they still don't float!
