I'm curious what CI pieces you guys consider essential for Cast Iron cooking on the Egg.
10" skillet with handle? 10" skillet no handle? Dutch Oven?
I'm in the market for some new CI to use on my Eggs.
Let me hear your suggestions.

10 or 12 inch skillet and Dutch oven is a good combo egg or not. The lid fits both. How else could you brown cubed pork butt and brown a rue for chili verde?

A cast iron griddle and a right sized Dutch oven.

The correct answer is YES! But really, I use my Dutch oven for chili and bread pudding all the time. I have a 10" with handle that gets used for crab cakes, blackened fish, baked spaghetti and a lot more. Those are the two I use the most.LBGE

I like these two. Searing on the griddle and a 2-fer on the DO-skillet lid.

I do have a cast iron muffin pan that is nice.

I've got the 16" flat rectangular griddle. Thinking seriously about getting a 10: or 12" skillet both with and without a handle and some size Dutch oven.Marshall in Beautiful Fruit Cove, FL.

I'd say the basics are a dutch oven, a skillet, and the lodge baking/pizza pan. After that you'll get an idea what you need to get next. One of my most used pieces is a wedge shaped cornbread skillet. An enameled casserole dish is pretty handy. A drop bisket pan is good to have. Maybe a lodge wok....
What I'm trying to say is that I found cast iron to be adictive.

Only thing I would consider essential is a DO. I don't use anything else on my egg, personally. With a blackstone and a couple of gas stove eyes they are both significantly superior for skillet jobs. Better temp control.
A large skillet without handles is nice if you want to finish certain dishes with a little smoke.XL, Small, Mini & Mini Max Green Egg, Shirley Fab Trailer, 6 gal and 2.5 gal Cajun Fryers, BlueStar 60" Range, 48" Lonestar Grillz Santa Maria, Alto Shaam 1200s, Gozney Dome, Gateway 55g Drum
