Cracked Fire Ring

After letting my LBGE cool down from a clean burn today I started the clean out to get ready for tomorrow's brisket. I took it all apart and cleaned all of the ash and small lumps out. Also one or two small rocks. While doing so I noticed that my fire ring was cracked all the way through. I can still use it for tomorrow's cook but I guess I'll be making a warranty claim this weekend. Is there a time limit on the fire ring or is it life time? The Egg was purchased on 10/28/16.
I gave everything a good inspection and I didn't see any other cracks. Funny thing is the fire ring felt warmer to me than the fire box did. Seems like the fire ring held the heat longer than the firebox though I didn't check the temperature of either piece.

Its already cracked all the way through and from top to bottom so that crack can't get any worse.Marshall in Beautiful Fruit Cove, FL.

I’ve cracked three now doing cleaning burns over 5 years. I don’t think the fire rings can handle the higher temps for some reason?

Mine cracked a couple years ago and has been fine. The crack likely relieves most of the stress in the ring and allows it to freely expand when heated, probably extending the rest of the life of the ring, excluding the one crack.

Picked up a new fire ring from my dealer today.
Now what to do with the old ring? Trying to think of some way to repurpose it. Maybe to sit hot grates on or something.Marshall in Beautiful Fruit Cove, FL.

My fire bowl cracked like that on a 12 yr old large egg. I emailed them a picture of it and a picture of my receipt. They sent a new bowl, no problem. I did notice that the replacement part has a slit all the way down one side so it can expand and retract without cracking.Large BGESan Angelo, texas

I posted the same pics on a Facebook group for Eggers in my area and the dealer contacted me and said he would take care of it for me. He has hosted an Eggfest for the last two years and is an Egg user and not just a seller. It shows in the way he deals with people. Thanks James.Marshall in Beautiful Fruit Cove, FL.

Is there a way to register the egg? I’ve long lost my receipts when i bought them and can’t remember which stores I got them from too

First thing I did was take pictures of my receipts and stored the images in the cloud.Marshall in Beautiful Fruit Cove, FL.
