I resisted Aldi at first too, now I stop there first! They don't have everything, but now that I've shopped there enough, I know when I'll have to go elsewhere. Some of their chicken is good, some of it is pumped up. Pork is injected too. Beef seems okay.
I shop at...
Aldi
Stop & Shop (same parent company as Giant)
Big Y (New England chain)
Price Chopper
Shop Rite
Patel Indian market (good spice selection, some produce, great prices)
Most things from the first two (closest). Rarely go to the others.
Would love to have a Wegmans! Nearest is 50+ miles away in Mass though. None in CT. I shop there when I visit Mom in VA. Good seafood selection, meats too. And cheeses, produce and a bakery. Only place I've ever seen Italian mozzarella di bufala and Hatch chiles.
Anyone have a Lidl? I stopped at one in VA a while ago. Classier joint than Aldi. Brand new store, wide aisles, very clean and well thought out. Brand names too. Higher prices than I was expecting.I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!
