    maybe lavatools is having an impact. Javelin Pro Duo is $46 list, $39 if you know the discount code (EGGHEAD). almost half price of T-works sale! as far as I can see, the Thermoworks Mk4 is more water resistant, but otherwise the same. had my earlier version T-pen since 2009, has a couple of issues (stress-cracked case and it doesn't always want to turn on), but it still works. I've only had my javelin pro duo since march. So far, perfect. Oh, the lavatools has a fridge magnet too.

    I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

    Save even more and get the refurb. I use the refurb ones when cooking at other places. Less pain if it gets lost.
