I love it. Especially at the price they are letting it go for. I bought 12 bags. I light it, it burns, then it cooks. And there is a lot more money left in my wallet. Even the leftover dust burns really well.

The review on the Naked Whiz site dates back to 2003. Not sure how applicable their comments are 15 years later. The Walmart web site lists that at just $7.88 per bag. At that price I'd buy at least a couple bags. If you don't like it for a low and slow it would likely still be fine for grilling burgers and dogs.“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.” ― Philip K. Diçk

I bought 2 bags. I’m half way through the first bag now. Only observation I have is that the pieces are rather large. I have to break a few up once in a while but other than that I have had no issues with it and I intend to buy it again.Large BGESan Angelo, texas

What area of the country is this available at? Unable to find it in my locale.
-
Upon deeper searches it appears that this is indeed available in my area, just not in stock.

I like it. Works fine for hot cooks or low and snow. No Sparks like that crappy mesquite junk Sam's club used to sell. The burn off of voc is darker smoke, but the burn off doesn't take any longer than other lump

Saw you can order Rockwood for 22.99 on the site. But its hard to beat $8 for 30lbsXL aka Senior, Mini Max aka Junior, Weber Q's, Blackstone 22, Lion built in, RecTec Mini 300, Lodge Hibachi, Uuni, wife says I have too many grills,,,,how many shoes do you have?

That's through some third party retailer on WalMart.com (not WalMart store.) We don't know who it is...….it's not 22.99 after they tack on a bunch for shipping. For all we know, they could be buying it from us and using us at a drop shipper.Matt86m said:Saw you can order Rockwood for 22.99 on the site. But its hard to beat $8 for 30lbs
Have you ever bought something on eBay and had it arrive in an Amazon box? There's a whole group of businesses that are doing nothing more than mass listing products on Amazon which do not have a strong presence on eBay and fall into a price range where they can make a dime. Even with eBay's commission in the middle, they're able to take your order, buy your product on Amazon, have it shipped for you, and still turn a profit. Pretty wild.

I’ve bought a bag, similar to Royal Oak in my opinion. One difference is Western had some pretty big pieces of lump but they all seemed to be on top of the bag. Also, dealing with a 30 lbs bag of lump can be somewhat of a hassle. I would buy again though.

The bag I got did spark more that any other lump I've used. Also had a very smoky flavor.
Not for me.Eastern Shore Virginia

I burned a bag last week, and it sparked a lot with TONS of smoke. Took quite a while to get clean smoke. Won't be buying anymore of that stuff.
