Warranty Question

Need a little guidance. Had my LBGE about 8 years now, this is the 1st warranty claim I have to put in. Crack in my firebox and a crack in my grate. I bought it at a place in Jacksonville, FL. I no longer live there. I know that I initially registered everything with BGE Headquarters right when I bought it. Also, my receipt is so faded out it's illegible. How could I go about doing this? Thanks for any help.

As long as it’s registered it shouldn’t be an issue. The grate may not be warrantied though. Just go to your local dealer and see if they can process the claim for you.

I think the Fire Grate warranty is 5 years.Tyler, TX XL BGE 2016, KJ Classic 2019, MES, 18.5 WSM, Akorn Jr, 36"&17" Black Stone, Adj Rig, Woo, Grill Grates, SS Smokeware Cap, KAB, FB 300, Thermapen

If you have a scanner for your computer you might be able to get it legible again. Go to manual mode and play with the contrast and brightness settings. Its amazing what is still hidden on/in that paper.Bullhalsey said:.... Also, my receipt is so faded out it's illegible. ...Southeast Florida - LBGE
In cooking, often we implement steps for which we have no explanations other than ‘that’s what everybody else does’ or ‘that’s what I have been told.’ Dare to think for yourself. -
haven't used my receipt for any claim and I have had my XL for 9 years. (one claim for a fire ring. I have noticed a crack in the base that doesn't appear to be bad yet, but will need to get it replaced soon.

Any dealer should be able to process your warranty claim. I made a warranty claim with another dealer last week, and it took me less than 30mins from the time I walked in the door and said hello. However, it does depend on how cooperative the dealer is, based on what other folks have reported here.
I doubt the grate is still under warranty. Use it and don’t worry about it. The same could even be said about the firebox.
I scanned the receipts for my eggs the day I brought each of them home. Have only made warranty claims on the LBGE, but it has taken me less than a minute to to find and email the receipt to the dealer when needed.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX. -
Just go to a local dealer and explain. Or if you can get ahold of the place in Jacksonville, they might have a copy. Either way you registered, so you should be good to go.
Firebox is covered, the grate is not. Buy a Kick Ash Basket and egg on.
