Can you FTC a turkey breast?

My pork got done way early it looks like.
I want to smoke a split bone in turkey breast but feel wasteful leaving the BGE running between now and noonish when I plan to put it on.

Can I cook it now and FTC it until 3pm (it's practically 10am right now . it's 4 pounds, so about 1 to 1 1/2 hours I think to smoke at 300?)

Just damp down your Egg to the lowest air gap you can get top and bottom. It will happily smoulder for a couple of hours with very little burn. Open the vents up again it it will be up to heat in minutes. I do this all the time.

It might be a good bit less time to cook. Pull it at 155F internal. Why not just smother the fire and relight closer to party time?

I would just turn the egg down and let it burn, then turn it back up when you want to put the turkey on. I don't think there's enough fat in a turkey breast for the FTC 'trick' to work. FWIW

Of course you can. FTC is just another method to keep food hot/warm.

    +1.

You can close the vents down for a while, then ramp up when you want to cook.

But I cook 2 turkey breast for our Thanksgiving potluck at work every year, and FTC works just fine.

Should you have decided to go down the FTC road (I know, late to the party) just recognize that your skin will lose crispness during the hold.  Beyond that no big deal.
