Large BGE hinge adjustment question?

I just moved to Rockwall, TX and disassembled my eggs before packing them.  First, I noticed that my large egg's fire ring and fire box were cracked, so I contacted my dealer and picked up replacements before moving.  When I re-assembled the large the lid won't stay open.  It wants to close.  I looked at the hinge and nothing appears to be loose and the hinge springs seem fine.  Has anyone ever had to replace the springs?  I'm thinking I should tighten up the hinge bolts and nuts to create some friction.  What say you?

Yes tighten the bolts the springs hang on, takes some patience.

Make sure it's level. Mine did that once and I discovered that it was just a shade off.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

This may sound silly, but are you sure your band is not upside down? On the old hinge the "L" bracket should look like an "L" upside down.
