Spiral ham

I picked up a small spiral ham today to cook on the XL. I didn’t do anything fancy..got the egg upnto 275 and threw in a few chunks of nectarine wood, rubbed the ham down with The Hot BBQ rub from Killer Hogs, then right before it was done I glazed with The BBQ Sauce. It came out beautiful.

Looks great! But where'd you get nectarine wood in Fbg?!

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

There’s a small wood stove/BGE dealer that sells a bunch of unique wood like that. Glover Enterprises

Hmmm, went to school in Stafford Co with a guy named Glover. Wonder if it's the same guy. Mom lives 2 miles from this store. Been shopping at Earl's since about 1959.

Earl's was a supermarket when I lived there. Sometime after I moved away, they changed to a hardware store. Still owned by the Broyles family though.

Somewhere in there, Pete White retired and sold Allman's BBQ. Hasn't been the same since!

At least Carl's hasn't changed! Somehow, they've even managed to keep the 1947 custard machines running!

Yep, Carls is a landmark. Nothing like taking the kids there in a hot summers night, and getting a chocolate malt (with extra malt). I haven’t been to Allmans in a long time. It was my go to for good bbq when I was young, but I have a hard time paying a restaurant for something that I can do really well!
