    Ya Irving is one of the worst places in Dallas to visit in my opinion because its exactly what you described. If you get a chance drive around Highland Park or go up North to Frisco or Northwest to the Southlake Area. Heck even come East out by me to Rockwall. But you gotta go Way East. Then you can get a better feel for what "Nice" Dallas is.
