No clue if they are worth the original price or even the discounted price, but there are plenty of bladeheads on here who might could offer some insight...

I would steer clear.  They don't mention where they are made, could be China, what alloy steel they are made from, the Rockwell hardness, etc.

Beware....great marketing, great fake Amazon reviews, questionable knives.

Thank you gents.  Kinda figured that high starting price was window dressing to make the discounted price look amazing.

I recall discussions about these a year ago. Personally, the way they market them would tell me to stay away from them.

What I recall is that they are made in China (which doesn't necessarily mean they are junk) and they were ok knives - just not anything special.

There are a lot of "Japanese looking" knives coming out of China now. Dalstrong is one example. Lots of folks seem to like them.

Maybe Wes Johnson can help you with Rockwell hardness.

A good value knife is made by Zhen.  I have three of them, bought them on woot! and they are all VG-10 core knives with a SS outer layer.  I have one "Damascus" style from them, it's purdy.  They all hold sharpness as you'd expect with VG-10.  Bit harder to sharpen than your average 440 knife.

They also sell on Amazon.  I think they are made in Taiwan or China.
