Smokeware Calibration

I have the Smokeware thermos with the black face.  Is that unit "calibrateable"?

Happy Memorial Day to all!
The problem with a problem is that you don't know it's a problem until it's a problem, and that is a big problem.

If there's a hex head on the back, then yes.  They've changed manufacturers a few times, but everything I've gotten from them for the last 2 yrs have all been adjustable.

Cool, thanks for the response.  It does have a nut on the backside.  Didn't want to crank on something not intended to be cranked on, ya know.

You'll know if that Smokeware thermometer will calibrate.  Some of the early thermometers had nuts on the back.  Unfortunately, it will not turn.

I had this issue and talked with the Smokeware folks and they sent me a new adjustable temp gauge.  Smokeware did the same for a friend of mine who had the same issue of adjustability.

Smokeware offers 2 versions.  An adjustable one and a non-adjustable one.  Nuts are universal to both (was at least true in 2016). If your numbers are between the hash marks and the center of the dial it is adjustable.  If they are between the outer edge and the hash marks it is not adjustable. The nut thickness is also different between the two, adjustable has a thicker nut.

Truthfully, no thermos for the egg are calibrateable.  You can just reset the zero.

With that said, I prefer the non-calibrateable ones.  I have a few of each.  I have purposefully abused them.  Going nuclear, then dropping in the snow, then back in the Egg.  They are still going strong.

Also, Smokeware stands behind their products 110%.  They are a stand-up company.

Don't tell your problems to people.  80% of people don't care and 20% are glad you have them.
