Funky Chicken

So, I got home from work and immediately grabbed a beer and headed to the patio. Fired up the large and went back inside to prep my chicken... Umm haha...

It was a whole chicken that SWMBO bought from Kroger the other day. I took my trusty boning knife and cut a slit in the bag to drain juices and wham... It hit me... Rotten eggs/sulfur smell. It was terrible, with a capital T.

So I tossed it... Duh.

I had big plans for that chicken tonight and now I'm stuck having salad which will make SWMBO happy.

Oh well, time for another beer

I had ribs a couple of weekends ago that had went bad. They smelled bad out of the cryovac bag, but I rinsed them and decided to go ahead with the cook.
When the ribs were done, they still had a detectable bad odor.
Where I went wrong, I bought the ribs at Walmart. That was the first mistake.
The second was proceeding with the cook instead of returning them to the store.
No one ate the bad ribs, but I was out the $20 or so for the ribs.
I will never by any meat from Walmart again. I thought it was safe to buy prepackaged Smithfield ribs, but I was seriously wrong.

Id have rinsed it and tried it. @northGAcock and my wings both had the funk at wing ding.  We're all still on the good side of the sod.

@theyolksonyou it was very, very strong. I've had butts give off a little sulfur smell out of the cryo, but nothing like this.

It was potent, like fill the room potent
