You may want to try something cheap before spending big bucks. I just got a $20 Wyze 2 camera. It is not outdoor rated, but I have it under a covered porch. It does need AC to power the USB port.

They are battery operated but the batteries last a long time and you can position them almost any where. I have a different brand that can shoot video or still photos and the resolution is amazing. Night or day.
Mine is a reconyx, a little pricier but it doesn't miss anything. I get a whole year plus out of a set of lithium batteries.
BTW, if you go this route get one with infrared flash. It's invisible to humans which makes it more stealth.

I've never had a problem but can't say I've had it out below 15 degrees. It does fine even when it's that cold though. The batteries seem to last forever, I changed them after about 16 months and they still showed around 25% life left.
This was one of my cry once buy once purchases and I wanted something dependable that would work as expected. 3 years later I can't say I'm sorry for choosing this camera.
