Case for Guru

Harbor Freight had a bunch of these on sale, waterproof with lots of padding. I bought a small and cut out just enough to fit my Guru to withstand the elements. A little bit of cutting in back for the cables but works great.

    Great idea and execution!

I like this.  May have to pick one up.  Did you put anything in the holes?  I've seen PVC elbows pointed down, on some setups, to keep the water from running in.

I used a strip of the foam that I removed and put it up against the holes. The cover actually has a bit of a lip which kept the rain out the first time I used it. I'm not sure if you can tell, but the handle is on top. What you see in front is the top folded in downwards. That's because I didn't want to cut through the handle hardware. That little indent in the foam on top is easy to push back as well, the foam has  a lot of little cubes in both directions to pull out. In fact there is an extra full layer of foam that could cover the entire box/unit if it's freezing outside and I want some insulation.

I have a gasketed box. I just drilled a hole in the bottom center of mine.

Nice. I use a pistol caddy for mine, but I have a question about yours since I must be missing something...aren't you going to have to open it up to set and/or change your controls meaning it is still going to get wet?

Most settings can be done indoors on the cloud, but even if I wanted to adjust outdoors, the Guru is pretty weather resistant and some water or ice for such a short time will not really affect anything. But many hours exposed on a long cook is a different story.
